...of the cross. This Holy week, God has really been revealing things about himself to me in a new way. Everyday, after my Bible reading, I have been writing the verse of a poem called Golgotha.I will post it here soon. I wrote the final verse today. The resurrection. The reason for Christianity. Because he is alive so I have hope to face tomorrow. 'There on the cross, where Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied.' 'No Power of Hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from his hand.' You know what kept coming back to me? The fact that even up to the last second of his life, whilst he was on the cross suffering such agony was that Jesus never stopped loving. He loved with every drop of blood, every suffocating breath because whilst both his followers and condemners alike could only see the short term, he held the long term in his scarred hands. We were in that crowd of mockers, we nailed him to our own sin and yet he forgave us. He gives us all the chance of eternal life. Heck! He loved Hitler and Stalin as much as he loves you and me because in his death, we are all equal in the sacrifice of love that he made. This morning I was filled with such an awesome joy, I wanted to scream my head off because I serve a living God. I know why he died, but more importantly, I live and love because he rose again and I can't wait to see him face to face in heaven!!!
